This started with a failed nightime photo that I kept and added a blend of my lilac image. Who would have ever known.

Started this background by attaching tissue paper with Mod Podge then painted over it. Allowed it to dry then randomely painted it again. Scanned into my pc and digitally altered it some more from there.

Used Golden's Gel Medium on a lace doily and rose stencil for this background. The original of this is destined as a book cover.

Started with hand painted watercolors to form these diamonds. Digitally altered the sheet that was scanned into my pc.

Found this in a vintage music magazine. Lots of wisdom. Hope you could use the "frame" too.

I see a bird in flight - paper towel background.

After this was done I couldn't help but see potentially 2 birds in flight. This will be great for use in blending.

Tamarack using stamp filter.

This was a closeup of a tamarack tree in our back yard. I used the Stamp Filter. It would like great in a blending mode - the rest is your imagination. Please share with me what you create with this. Enjoy.

This truly is mixed media.

Took distress ink and rubbed it over the crumpled vintage sheet music surface to give it a grunge look. Then in Photoshop I used the palette knife filter.

grunge paper towel background in blues etc

Used this piece of paper towel to clean brushes and stamps. I plan on using the grunge look as a texture in part or whole for some of my Photoshop backgrounds.

White combed cotton with filter adjustments.

Scanned in this combed cotton then adjusted it with filter adjustments in Photoshop.

Lavender cheescloth grunge background.

I was dyeing some cheescloth and while still damp I placed it on card stock and ran a brayer over it. It left a grunge look which I like in certain applications or backgrounds. Enjoy.

Gold gesso from Daniel Smith

I painted the cream colored card-stock with Gold gesso from Daniel Smith. Then I folded it at random to give it some texture. Scanned it to my pc and adjusted it in Photoshop using levels.

Original watercolor then digitally altered backgrounds

I did this small watercolor of 3 floral sprigs. Scanned it into my pc then played with Photoshop.
Thought these would make unusual backgrounds in part or whole.

Got carried away when I made this - but I actually enjoyed it. Did this with acrylic paints and gesso with the white swirl design.

This is a shot of a skein of crochet cotton. I love the textures here. This has such potential to the graphic artist! I think it's the diamond design that I tend to gravitate to.

Another paper towel background. I scanned it into Photoshop and used a couple filters on it. There are parts that are quite interesting. Cleaning my brushes and stamps creates this cheap fun! One of a kind and it's free!

Hand stamped the intersecting diamond design which I did randomly by hand on this purple splotched paper towel. Cleaning my brushes again.

Subtle grey gesso imprint design.

You really have to look close to see the soft design. I started with black cardstock and while gesso was wet I stamped on it at random.

Ready sympathy for mother vintage image.

Usually mothers offer sympathy to children but this one suggests children offering sympathy to mother. Could be a good image for a journal prompt. Please do share what you do with it.

Design from an old magazine made into a "background".

I like the ornate design on this one leather element from a magazine that is about 100 years old.

Glimmer mist greens on leaves etc.

I love the texture this paper took on when I sprayed with the watery glimmer mists by Tattered Angels. CLICK ON IMAGE TO SEE THE SUBTLE LEAVES.

Mysterious background with movement.

This was a picture I took at night with movement. It was a disaster but I can see many ideas for it with Photoshop as a background using Filters.

Black swirl on sepia old paper background.

Found this on a very old cookbook cover. It originally was white and gold. Changed it using Photoshop's old paper filter.
