A change to the terms and use of this blog.

I have made a couple of changes: Please see right hand side boxes.

1. These backgrounds / images may not be sold as a collection or in any other form.

2. If you wish to leave a comment to share what you have created with any of these backgrounds / images please feel free to do so. This is simplifying it from what I had before.

Thanks. Now let's see some of your work! Sandra

Lavender texture background.

I used this in the back of one of my journals. It started as some wallpaper which I did not care for the color so I painted it this lavender color then ran some sandpaper over it. It is very textured.

Blue and white stamped background on Yupo paper.

Yupo paper is a synthetic water color paper that is practically indestructible. I was experimenting with it here. Will cut this up and use as a background layer on my cards. Enjoy!

"I'm Growing Old" vintage picture.

If I ever do a personal scrapbook or diary I will write about this. I am grateful for a very young feeling brain. In fact it makes appointments my body can't keep.

Stamped crinkled pink tissue paper background.

Had some extra paint so randomly stamped on this crinkled tissue. Makes nice gift wrap for the small gift too!

Beige background with white doily stencil and embossed heart.

Was cleaning off my plastic doily which acted as a stencil. I rather liked it. Embossed heart could be also used in digital art.

Diamond design showing on painted green n black paper towel.

This is what happens when you paint a surface then run the brayer over a paper towel. I just love the look of this. Hope you can use some or all of it in your digital art work.

Yellow mottled look framed background.

I must share with you how I came up with this. One evening I was walking by the dining table and noticed the light shining through a rattan lattice chair on a thank you card sitting there. I took a picture of it then added the golden colors. It would make a subtle background. Try it!

Painted this sheet music before digitally altering it.

After crinkling this up and painting it I scanned it in and used the Palette Knife Filter to it. Lot's of possibilities with this background.

Green foiled background on leaf stamped background.

Tried using the green foil on this script stamp. This would be lovely for making fabric beads - on my to do list this winter.

Baker! Baker!

Found this in a very old children' s large print music book. If you are doing a cook book project please feel free to use it.

Gilded butterfly on diamond stamped sheet music background

Stamped the diamond design with Golden's gel medium then did a light brushing with a soft transparent gold before adding the "gilded" butterfly which I did using alcohol inks.

Picture titled: First Grief.

This could be a good prompt for some writing - however enjoy the image which is from a very, very old book.

Gingko leaf rubbing in greens n blacks background.

As usual I really was just cleaning my brush. I liked how it looked better when I did the gingko leaf rubbing. Part of it could be used and altered in Photoshop.

Cheesecloth on black background.

I thought this could present lots of ideas. This could be changed to any color in your photo editing software. Try distorting it. Use it for lettering etc.

Yellow painted background digitally altered.

I was using green Glimmer Mist on a yellow painted background. I scanned it in and altered it using Photoshop. Go to my Lavendula Loveliness blog to see what I did with it.

Sheet music with torn edges and watercolor diamond design.

I love painting with watercolor - this hungry 100 year old paper absorbed it very well. Used my paper ripping ruler to guide my brush lines. Parts of this would look good in a digital collage.

Blue swirl on canvas paper.

Bought some canvas paper and played with blue metallic paint. Will be using part of it for a book cover.

Yellow brush "roses" background.

Used an old shaving brush to make these "brush roses". Oh so much fun with left over paint.

Hand painted and sprayed with green Glimmer Mist.

Just playing again. Go to my http://Lavendulaloveliness.blogspot.com blog to see what I did with it. The original will be used inside a book cover that I'm working on. Hope you can use it in your digital collage work.

Stamped blue and green swirl by Sandra

I'm not sure but I could have been cleaning my stamp again! I used some of this paper to make a few die cut embellishments. Go to my blog: http://lavendulaloveliness.blogspot.com/ to see what I did with them. Thanks for stopping by!

Red bubbles with potential.

Because I have a artistic eye I can see so much potential with this. If you enlarge it with your photo editing software you will see beautiful detail in the back of each bubble. Someday when I have time I would like to add a few quotes, little pictures etc then run with it from there. Give it a try! Let me know what you do with it. Have fun. Leave a comment with any other ideas you could add to be creative.

All you need is your vintage photo and crop off the outer edges of this background.
