Painted a sheet of black cardstock with a coat of white gesso. Once dry took my Scor-It tool and created the diamond pattern. Then rubbed over it with a sanding block to bring out black background diamond grid.

Did this on ordinary brown paper with several gold paints. The water rippled the paper giving it some neat texture. This could be changed to blue for a water effect in a collage. The diamond in pink is very subtle.

This is from the back of a7 Gypsies box that I doodled on while the paint was still wet. I used the eraser part of a pencil. I mixed a glaze with the paint so it was easy to manipulate. See my other blog for a project I created with a portion of this.

I enjoyed playing on this sheet of watercolor with a friend the other day. I used a foam stamp and a ready made one. Try taking parts of this image and use in a collage or card. Click on it to see the detail of the foam stamp.
